Consulting Physical Therapist The Judge Rotenberg Center Canton, MA Job Details Per diem $90 - $100 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Dependent health insurance coverage Qualifications Computer operation English Assisting with ADLs Driver's License Physical Therapy License Typing Full Job Description The Consultant Physical Therapist position is responsible for meeting the physical therapy needs of a multi-handicapped student/client population. This position reports to Special Education Director and/or Assistant Director of Education. This position also requires supervision of a Physical Therapy Assistant. It is per-diem position, dependent upon current staffing/student levels. Hours of work are dependent upon coverage necessary.
Educational/Work History Requirements:
College degree required. Has Massachusetts Physical Therapist licensure. Have stamina and physical endurance for an exceedingly busy department and demanding responsibilities. Must possess excellent problem solving, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to function with minimal to moderate supervision. Essential Duties of the Position 1. Must be willing to learn about the JRCstudents/clients, their disabilities and the forms of treatment provided at JRC. 2. Must be willing to be responsible for the safety and welfare of the JRC students/clients. 3. Must be able to understand the gravity of their responsibility for the safety and care of the JRC students/clients and be willing to perform their duties diligently. 4. Delivers Physical therapy services to the students. 5. Supervises Physical Therapy Assistant, provides support and guidance as necessary and signs off monthly on related service delivery forms. 6. Completes student evaluations as required by the school districts. 7. May be asked to perform in-service training and supervision to staff regarding activities of daily living, fine and gross motor skills, and sensory skills. 8. Reviews students' PT goals with Physical Therapy Assistant in preparation for Progress Review Meetings and Annual Reviews. 9. Maintains Related Services form to document delivery of services as mandated by regulation. 10. Completes daily sign in sheet indicating services delivered and other required reports, schedules, documents or forms and submits them in a timely manner to the Education Office. 11. Completes quarterly progress reports by due date. 12. Attends IEP meetings as requested and creates appropriate yearly goals. 13. Meets with Physical Therapy Assistant on a regular basis to discuss student progress, suggestions for changes or any other problems/concerns regarding delivery of PT services. 14. Responsible for reporting abuse to JRC and appropriate agencies.

  • Exhibits dependability, strong work ethic, and respect for the confidentiality of the students.
  • Exhibits accurate, good to excellent typing skills, and knowledge of basic computer programs.
  • Exhibits a professional appearance and demeanor.
Physical Demands of Position:
  • Has the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English.
  • Has 20/20 vision or correctable to 20/20 with corrective lenses.
  • Has the ability to stand and walk for at least 50% of the work day.
  • Has the ability to sit for at least 50% of the work day.
  • Has excellent eye/hand coordination for extensive computer work.
  • Has the ability to lift up to 25 pounds as the position involves lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and handling.
  • Possesses a valid driver's license.
Pay:
$90.00 - $100.00 per hour
