Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have specialized training and experience in evaluating and treating patients with pelvic floor dysfunctions. The therapist will be responsible for providing personalized treatment plans, educating patients, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Evaluation and Treatment:
Conduct thorough evaluations of patients with pelvic floor dysfunctions, including but not limited to urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, prolapse, and pre/postnatal conditions. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that may include manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, biofeedback, and patient education. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Patient Education and Support:
Educate patients on the anatomy and function of the pelvic floor, self-care strategies, and the importance of adherence to treatment plans. Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients dealing with sensitive and often distressing conditions.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, urologists, gynecologists, and obstetricians, to provide comprehensive care. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers about treatment goals, progress, and any necessary modifications to the care plan. Communicate professionally within our clinic with fellow PTs and staff to ensure a positive work environment.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
Professional Development:
Stay current with the latest research, techniques, and advancements in pelvic floor physical therapy. Participate in continuing education opportunities and contribute to in-service training sessions for other staff members.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program. Licensed to practice as a Physical Therapist in Massachusetts. Completion of course curriculum from Herman and Wallace or APTA on pelvic floor dysfunction and treatment is required.
Experience:
Clinical experience in pelvic floor physical therapy. Competency in treating diverse patient populations with pelvic floor dysfunction.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of pelvic floor anatomy, physiology, and related dysfunctions. Proficient in manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and biofeedback. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive topics with professionalism and empathy. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$80,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
