Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity specializing in school-based physical therapy, supporting K-12 students through their academic journey. This assignment offers hands-on experience with a diverse range of learners while making an immediate impact in an educational setting. Service delivery will take place onsite, allowing for meaningful engagement and development of therapeutic relationships throughout the school year.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current, active Physical Therapy (PT) license required Prior experience working within a K-12 school environment highly valued Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate cross-functionally with educators, families, and support staff Demonstrated ability to assess, design, and implement effective, individualized intervention plans Comfortable adapting strategies to meet varying student abilities and needs
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver evidence-based physical therapy services to students, fostering academic access and mobility Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized education plan (IEP) recommendations Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to align therapy goals with educational objectives Maintain meticulous documentation of student progress, session notes, and compliance with district and state guidelines Educate school staff and families regarding student needs and appropriate supports Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and advocating for student success This contract role spans the academic school year, with work expected on an as-needed (per diem) basis.
