Overview Join our dedicated team as a Part-Time School Physical Therapist and make a meaningful impact on students' lives! In this vital role, you will provide specialized physical therapy services within the school environment, supporting students' mobility, functional independence, and overall well-being. Your expertise will help develop personalized treatment plans, promote safe participation in school activities, and collaborate closely with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure each student's success. This position offers a flexible schedule perfect for those passionate about pediatric care and community health. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' physical abilities, mobility, and functional limitations to inform treatment strategies. Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each student's needs, including therapy goals and progress tracking. Deliver targeted physiotherapy interventions such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and mobility training to enhance student outcomes. Collaborate with teachers, school nurses, parents, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and discharge planning processes. Document all patient care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems following clinical documentation standards. Monitor student progress regularly and adjust treatment plans accordingly to maximize rehabilitation potential. Educate students and staff on injury prevention techniques, proper body mechanics, and physiotherapy practices relevant to the school setting. Requirements Valid state licensure or certification as a licensed Physical Therapist with practicing in a physical therapy role. Prior experience working with pediatric populations in outpatient clinics, outpatient rehabilitation centers, or school settings. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, neurology, orthopedics, geriatrics (if applicable), and medical terminology. Experience with outpatient clinic experience or inpatient hospital experience is preferred. Familiarity with clinical documentation standards and electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) systems for accurate patient care documentation. Ability to work effectively with geriatric patients or children requiring specialized care when needed. Excellent client communication skills to engage students and collaborate with healthcare professionals effectively. Knowledge of discharge planning processes for transitioning students back to regular activities or home settings.
