Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to assess their physical capabilities and develop appropriate treatment plans based on individual needs. Design and implement tailored therapy sessions that focus on improving mobility, strength, and functional independence. Utilize various therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy and exercise regimens, to treat specific physical limitations or pain points. Track and document patient progress meticulously, adjusting treatment protocols as necessary to optimize recovery outcomes. Engage in continuous collaboration with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to each patient's health and well-being. Provide education and resources to patients and their families, ensuring they are informed about exercises and strategies to support recovery at home. Adhere to state and federal guidelines, maintaining compliance with best practices in physical therapy. Patient Population / Client Focus This position primarily focuses on adult and geriatric patients, many of whom face mobility challenges, chronic pain, or post-surgical rehabilitation needs. Understanding the unique requirements of this demographic and providing empathetic, individualized care is essential. Qualifications Possession of a valid license as a Physical Therapist in New York State. A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required; however, candidates with a Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program will be prioritized. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential for collaborating effectively with patients and team members alike. A commitment to maintaining professional licensure through continued education and training in the field. Preferred Experience A minimum of two years of experience in a rehabilitation or outpatient setting, ideally in a skilled nursing or geriatric care environment, is highly desirable.
