Work Environment This position is based in our outpatient office located in the heart of Rome, New York. Our typical work schedule runs from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours of either 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical conditions and develop individualized rehabilitation treatment plans focusing on orthopedic issues. Utilize a variety of techniques, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities like ultrasound or electrical stimulation, to enhance patient outcomes. Engage in clinical teaching, mentoring physical therapy interns and students, facilitating their growth and understanding of best practices. Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans based on their reactions and developments, ensuring adaptive strategies that align with their rehabilitation goals. Participate in continuing education opportunities and advance clinical knowledge in orthopedic physical therapy. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Support the clinic manager by contributing ideas for clinical research in your area of expertise, promoting an evidence-based practice environment. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on patients recovering from a variety of orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to post-operative rehabilitation, sports injuries, and chronic pain syndromes. You will be responsible for assessing their unique needs and implementing effective treatment strategies that aim to restore optimal function and strength. The diversity of cases you encounter will provide a stimulating and enriching professional environment. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required. An active license to practice physical therapy in the state of New York. At least two years of hands-on experience in orthopedic physical therapy is necessary. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective patient interaction and education. Strong clinical assessment capabilities to accurately evaluate patient needs and plan treatment. Preferred Experience Preference for candidates with board certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, showcasing an advanced understanding of orthopedic treatment. Experience in utilizing various therapeutic modalities to optimize patient recovery. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical setting while managing multifaceted patient care.
