In this vital role, you will specialize in evaluating and treating patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, including urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, postpartum recovery, and other related conditions. Your expertise will help improve patients' quality of life through personalized treatment plans, patient education, and collaborative care. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients with pelvic floor disorders, including detailed history-taking and physical examinations focusing on physiology and anatomy. Develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based techniques such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy, and patient education. Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at strengthening pelvic muscles, improving mobility, and reducing pain while ensuring adherence to clinical documentation standards. Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals such as urologists, gynecologists, neurologists, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care strategies. Educate patients on their conditions, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and discharge planning to promote ongoing self-care at home and within the community. Manage electronic health records (EHR) or electronic medical records (EMR) systems accurately to document patient progress, treatment outcomes, and care plans in compliance with healthcare regulations. Participate in discharge planning for inpatient or home health patients to ensure seamless transition and continued rehabilitation support. Experience Proven experience practicing as a licensed physical therapist with a focus on pelvic health or related fields such as orthopedics, neurology, pediatrics, or geriatrics. Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical documentation standards relevant to pelvic floor therapy. Prior outpatient clinic experience with patient rehabilitation in outpatient rehabilitation centers or hospital settings is highly preferred. Experience working with diverse populations including geriatric patients, pediatric clients, or those requiring home & community care is advantageous. Familiarity with outpatient experience involving treatment plan development for complex cases involving incontinence or pelvic pain management. Working knowledge of inpatient care procedures and hospital protocols related to acute care settings is a plus.
