Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapist Tech, where your enthusiasm and dedication will directly support patient recovery and well-being. In this vital role, you will assist licensed physical therapists in delivering exceptional rehabilitation services to diverse patient populations. Your proactive approach and compassionate care will help facilitate smooth therapy sessions, ensure patient safety, and promote a positive healing environment. Responsibilities Prepare treatment areas and assist with setting up therapy equipment for patient sessions Support physical therapists by providing manual handling assistance during exercises and therapy activities Help patients with transfers using proper patient transfer methods, ensuring safety and comfort Monitor patient responses during therapy, reporting any concerns or adverse reactions promptly Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, progress notes, and treatment details in accordance with confidentiality standards Assist with patient intake procedures, including gathering medical history and explaining therapy plans Uphold hospital protocols related to infection control, safety procedures, and patient confidentiality at all times Experience Prior experience practicing in a physical therapy or rehabilitation support role is highly preferred Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology and athletic training is preferred Hands-on experience with manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods in inpatient or post-acute care settings Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members Experience working within hospital environments, including acute care, geriatrics, orthopedics, or sub-acute care settings CPR certification and familiarity with hospital medicine standards are required Background in heavy lifting and rehabilitation care assistance is advantageous for success in this role
