This part-time position is not benefits-eligible. Duties Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' gross motor skills, mobility, positioning, balance, strength, coordination, and functional limitations to inform educationally relevant treatment planning. Develop and implement individualized physical therapy goals, interventions, and treatment plans based on student needs and IEP requirements. Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services to students within the school environment. Implement therapeutic exercises and functional activities designed to improve mobility, strength, endurance, balance, coordination, and independence. Support students with positioning, transfers, adaptive equipment, mobility devices, and access to the educational environment. Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, special education staff, nurses, administrators, and families to coordinate student support. Participate in IEP meetings and provide clear recommendations regarding student needs, progress, goals, and services. Monitor student progress, collect data, maintain required documentation, and modify interventions as appropriate. Provide consultation and training to school staff and families regarding positioning, mobility, equipment use, transfers, and strategies for supporting student independence. Maintain accurate service logs, progress reports, evaluation reports, and other required documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements. Assist with determining when students have met therapy goals, require modifications to services, or may be appropriate for discharge from school-based physical therapy. Maintain confidentiality and comply with IDEA, FERPA, district policies, professional standards, and applicable state and federal regulations. Experience Current Texas Physical Therapist license in good standing is required . Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited physical therapy program. Previous experience working with pediatric populations is strongly preferred. School-based physical therapy experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of pediatric development, anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, neurology, mobility, and functional movement. Experience conducting physical therapy evaluations and developing individualized treatment plans. Familiarity with IEPs, special education, and educationally relevant related services is preferred. Strong knowledge of clinical documentation standards and therapy terminology. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, educators, healthcare professionals, and families. Ability to work independently, manage a part-time caseload, maintain required documentation, and meet established timelines. Reliable transportation and ability to travel between school sites as required.
