Job Description

Step into a vital role providing physical therapy services within a vibrant district in the Houston area. This contract opportunity covers the 2026-2027 school year, supporting K-12 students across multiple campuses. Youll be part of a dynamic team, splitting a manageable caseload with another PT and collaborating closely to impact students growth and success. As a physical therapist in this setting, your expertise in both evaluation and treatment for children and adolescents will be highly valued. Alternatively, experienced physical therapist assistants (PTAs) with a strong background in school-based or pediatric settings are encouraged to apply. Youll have the flexibility of using the district office as your home base, traveling to various campuses as needed, and will work a consistent full-time schedule.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active Texas physical therapy license required Proven experience in school-based or pediatric physical therapy for PTAs Completion of state fingerprinting and background check prior to employment Experience working with K-12 students, including those needing direct and consultative services Familiarity with Frontline and SuccessEd documentation systems preferred Must not have been previously employed by the district or been terminated from any school district (candidates are required to complete an affidavit regarding prior employment status)
Key Responsibilities:
Provide assessments, create individualized treatment plans, and deliver care for a split caseload of 160 students (50 direct services) Collaborate with another PT and district staff to optimize outcomes Maintain timely, accurate documentation using district systems Utilize the district office as a hub and travel between assigned campuses Build rapport with students and staff across diverse age groups This position offers the fulfillment of supporting childrens physical development, stable full-time hours, and the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team.
