401(k) Competitive salary Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Job overview: AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) to work at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) and associated clinics in San Antonio, Texas . The PT evaluates and treats patients recovering from injuries, surgery, orthopedic conditions, neurological problems, and other medical conditions. Inpatient PTs work with more medically complex hospitalized patients, while outpatient PTs generally focus more on orthopedic, sports, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
Main Duties:
Evaluate patients and develop individualized PT treatment plans. Provide therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait and mobility training. Treat orthopedic, neurological, surgical, and medically complex conditions. Train patients on assistive devices such as walkers, canes, and crutches. Monitor progress and modify treatment plans when needed. Coordinate care with physicians, nurses, OT staff, and other providers. Document treatment and patient progress. Direct and oversee PTAs/therapy technicians when applicable. Assist with discharge planning and patient/family education.
Qualifications :
Degree Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Education Must be a graduate of a Physical Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) . Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) as required by the contract. Complete and maintain all applicable OSHA-required training relevant to duties performed. Required certifications must remain current throughout contract performance.
License:
Current, valid, unrestricted PT license.
Experience :
Minimum At least two years of qualifying Physical Therapist experience within the last three years , providing required direct patient physical therapy care in the United States.
Inpatient Assignment:
Documented experience and proficiency in an acute inpatient physical therapy setting .
Outpatient Assignment:
Documented outpatient PT experience and proficiency are preferred. Experience in outpatient orthopedics, sports physical therapy and/or acute inpatient physical therapy is preferred.
Citizenship:
U.S. citizenship is required. National Provider Identifier Physical Therapists must possess the required 10-digit National Provider Identifier (NPI) .
Schedule:
Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week , with shifts generally scheduled Monday-Friday between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM , based on BAMC mission and clinic needs. Schedule and assigned BAMC clinic may vary.
Additional Requirements:
Must meet Tier 1 security, credentialing, occupational-health, immunization and TB-screening requirements. Position is emergency/mission essential and requires the physical capability including lifting at least 70 pounds. This is a Non-SCA position so all inclusive pay.
