Work Environment The role is based onsite at our state-of-the-art Rehabilitation Center located in Charlottesville, Virginia. The facility is equipped with advanced rehabilitation technology, including therapeutic equipment and assessment tools. Our collaborative environment encourages teamwork among physical therapists, assistants, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring comprehensive care delivery. The daily schedule accommodates Monday through Friday shifts, allowing for a balanced work-life experience. Key Responsibilities As a Physical Therapist, your key responsibilities will include: Directing tailored physical therapy treatments focused on pain relief, muscle function improvement, and disability prevention, consistent with each client's individualized plan of care. Supervising physical therapy assistants to ensure proper implementation of treatment plans. Evaluating patients' functional abilities through various diagnostic tests to formulate effective rehabilitation strategies. Assessing home environments to provide recommendations that enhance patient independence and safety. Administering therapeutic exercises, manual interventions, and treatments designed to optimize physical recovery. Evaluating and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices, providing modifications as recommended by physicians. Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, participating in case conferences, and actively contributing to care plan development and updates. Documenting patient progress through clinical records, including evaluations and treatment notes, in compliance with agency standards. Providing education and training to patients and families on therapeutic devices and home exercise programs. Staying accessible to assist physical therapy assistants during client treatments to ensure quality care. Patient Population / Client Focus This role encompasses a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution. A valid PT license in good standing within the state of Virginia. Current CPR certification. Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and team members. Preferred Experience While a minimum of two years of experience as a physical therapist is required, preference will be given to candidates with experience in acute care or home care settings, demonstrating a broad understanding of the healthcare landscape. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this role is competitive, between USD 100,000 and 120,000 annually, dependent upon experience and qualifications.
