Work Environment This position is office-based at patients' homes within the Clifton, Virginia area. As a Physical Therapist, you will work closely with patients in their own environments, fostering independence and enhancing their quality of life. The schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm, providing a balanced work-life environment. Key Responsibilities In your role as a Physical Therapist, you will: Direct physical therapy treatment to prevent disability, relieve pain, and enhance muscle function, adhering closely to individualized care plans. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) ensuring the effective implementation of treatment plans in a home setting. Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' functional abilities through a variety of diagnostic tests and assessments. Assess home environments to recommend adjustments which facilitate greater autonomy and rehabilitation for clients. Deliver prescribed physical therapy treatments, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and treatments utilizing physical agents like traction and massage. Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices, advocating for necessary modifications to the overseeing physician. Contribute to the interdisciplinary team by actively participating in case conferences, care plan development, and evaluating the overall treatment strategy. Maintain meticulous clinical records, documenting all evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries efficiently. Engage with clients and their families to provide education on therapy techniques and device care, ensuring they are empowered to participate in their recovery. Fulfill additional assignments that support the company's mission and facilitate high-quality care delivery. Patient Population / Client Focus You will primarily work with a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from surgeries, managing chronic conditions, or needing rehabilitation after injuries. Our patient-centered approach means every treatment is tailored to fit the unique needs and goals of each individual, promoting not only physical well-being but also emotional and psychological recovery. Qualifications We are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications: Graduated from an accredited physical therapy program. Possess a current physical therapy license in good standing for Virginia. Hold a valid CPR certification. Have a valid driver's license and auto insurance, allowing for the travel necessary in this role. Exhibit strong decision-making abilities and be capable of creative problem-solving in challenging situations. Demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence and high standards of patient care. Preferred Experience While a minimum of one year of experience in either acute care or home care settings is required, candidates with experience in a rehabilitation-focused role are strongly preferred.
