Utilize various therapeutic techniques, such as manual therapy, exercises, and mobility training to facilitate recovery and promote independence. Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, health management, and the importance of active participation in their rehabilitation. Monitor and document patient progress in compliance with regulatory guidelines and provide updates to the interdisciplinary care team. Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including occupational therapists and nurses, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Encourage and motivate patients by celebrating their achievements and promoting their engagement in therapy sessions. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on geriatric patients, many of whom may be managing chronic conditions that affect mobility, strength, and overall health, such as arthritis, stroke, and post-surgical recovery. You will help these individuals regain their independence and confidence through targeted therapeutic interventions. Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required. Current and valid Physical Therapy license to practice in Virginia. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with patients of various backgrounds and personalities. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to deliver patient-centered care. Preferred Experience Experience in geriatrics and home care settings is highly desirable. Compensation and Benefits The salary for this role ranges from USD $80,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
