Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference supporting students aged 12-21 by providing dedicated physical therapy services in a school-based environment. This contract role is based near Alexandria, VA, and offers the chance to work alongside a multidisciplinary team, ensuring students receive the vital support they need to enhance their mobility and quality of life. Ideal candidates will bring experience working in educational settings as Physical Therapists, especially with adolescents and young adults. The position requires fulfilling 16 hours of service per month, with flexibility to meet each student's individual compensatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Valid and active Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia Previous experience in school-based therapy settings Strong understanding of IEPs and experience writing therapy goals and progress reports Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Ability to manage a caseload of students with varying physical and developmental needs
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments for students ages 12-21 and develop personalized therapy interventions Deliver direct physical therapy services as outlined in student IEPs Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and other related service providers Maintain accurate documentation of sessions and progress for eight students on caseload Consult with educational staff to provide strategies for classroom modifications and student support Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and school-specific guidelines Step into a role that allows you to shape the educational and physical outcomes for students who need your specialized expertise.
