You will be collaborating closely with a small team consisting of two other physical therapists and a physical therapy assistant (PTA). The work environment is dynamic and supportive, where each team member contributes to achieving common goals and improving patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments to recognize the unique objectives and requirements of each patient, tailoring interventions to meet their individual needs. Maintain a manageable patient load of two individuals per hour, allowing for focused and personalized therapeutic interaction. Employ prior experience in orthopedic outpatient settings to provide the highest quality of care. Implement evidence-based cost-effective therapies that enhance patients' range of motion and overall mobility. Advocate for reduced reliance on medication by offering non-surgical alternatives and supportive therapy. Formulate comprehensive treatment plans utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as manual therapy and therapeutic exercises. Design customized fitness and wellness programs to promote physical health that align with each patient's unique capabilities and goals. Deliver high-quality, individualized care, consistently measuring progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Encourage and motivate patients throughout their treatment journey to enhance functionality and confidence. Foster healthy lifestyle choices for clients by improving strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination through targeted exercises. Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, ensuring a cohesive approach to patient care. Evaluate treatment outcomes and maintain effective communication with patients and their families. Accurately document all services provided to patients in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Patient Population / Client Focus The patients you will work with primarily include individuals seeking rehabilitation from orthopedic injuries or surgeries. This may involve addressing needs related to post-operative recovery, sports injuries, chronic pain management, and preventive care. You will have the opportunity to facilitate healing in a supportive environment where patients are encouraged to be active participants in their recovery process. Qualifications A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited institution. Current license as a Physical Therapist in Virginia with no record of disciplinary actions. Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and a solid understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation. Experience in designing and implementing effective exercise programs tailored to varied patient needs. Ability to efficiently utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, preferably WebPT. Preferred Experience At least 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist, specifically in an orthopedic outpatient setting. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
