Position Overview Stalwart Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist to join our compassionate team in Herndon, Virginia. Work Environment This role operates in an onsite home care setting, where you will work closely with patients in their residences. Your work schedule will typically encompass 40 hours per week, with variable weekends included to accommodate patient needs. As an integral member of our orthopedic team, you will be pivotal in executing treatment plans tailored to each individual, ensuring they receive the best possible care in a familiar environment. Key Responsibilities As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your responsibilities will include: Conducting comprehensive evaluations of patients with orthopedic conditions, developing tailored treatment plans based on their individual needs. Providing ongoing consultations to healthcare providers about the patient's continuum of care to ensure optimal treatments. Implementing and adjusting treatment plans while incorporating patient feedback and using evidence-based practices. Documenting patient evaluations, treatments, and progress in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Maintaining clear communication with interdisciplinary treatment teams, including physicians, regarding patient status and treatment adjustments. Engaging in community outreach and leadership activities, enhancing service delivery and maintaining program excellence. Training, supervising, and mentoring physical therapy assistants and support staff to ensure high standards of care. Patient Population / Client Focus Your primary focus will be on patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, injuries, and various conditions affecting their musculoskeletal systems. By evaluating functional limitations and implementing individualized treatment regimes, you will play a crucial role in restoring mobility and independence. Understanding the specific needs of diverse patient demographics is essential, as you will often tailor your approach to cater to varying ages, cultural backgrounds, and abilities. Qualifications To be successful in this position, candidates must possess: A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution. A valid state license in Physical Therapy. BLS certification. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interactions with patients and healthcare teams. Proficiency in word processing and electronic documentation systems related to physical therapy. Preferred Experience While not mandatory, the following experiences are preferred: Previous experience working in a home care environment or with orthopedic patient populations. Expertise in clinical assessments and personalized care strategies. Familiarity with the latest physical therapy techniques and technology.
