About the Organization Adventist Physical Health Rehabilitation is a leading outpatient physical therapy provider known for its commitment to advanced rehabilitative practices and patient-centered care. Located in Suffolk, Virginia, our facility features a spacious state-of-the-art, 5000 square feet sports medicine clinic that is equipped with the latest therapeutic technology and equipment. Our team includes experienced professionals dedicated to orthopedic rehabilitation, making our practice an ideal environment for both staff and patients alike. Work Environment The physical therapist role at our outpatient practice will primarily take place on-site, allowing for direct interaction with patients in a supportive and collaborative environment. Working collaboratively with a team of two physical therapists and one physical therapist assistant (PTA), you will focus exclusively on providing high-quality therapy tailored to the needs of each patient. Your standard work schedule will be from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. Key Responsibilities Assess and identify individual patient goals and needs to develop customized treatment plans. Maintain a manageable caseload of one patient per hour to ensure focused, high-quality care. Employ manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription to enhance patients' mobility and independence. Minimize pharmacological interventions by implementing alternative therapies and non-invasive treatment strategies. Utilize evidence-based practices to guide treatment decisions and patient education. Document all patient interactions and treatment progress in compliance with established protocols, including the use of electronic medical record (EMR) software such as WebPT. Collaborate with fellow healthcare professionals to seamlessly align treatment plans and monitor outcomes. Motivate and empower patients through their rehabilitation process, promoting healthy lifestyle changes that improve physical function. Evaluate ongoing treatment effects and communicate updates and changes to colleagues and patients regularly. Patient Population / Client Focus Our patient demographic includes individuals who primarily possess private medical insurance, enabling access to tailored orthopedic treatment services. We specialize in providing care for patients recovering from a range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. As part of your role, you'll develop strong therapeutic relationships with patients, assisting them in setting and achieving their health goals while navigating their recovery journeys. Qualifications Completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program. Possess a valid Physical Therapist license to practice in Virginia, with no outstanding disciplinary actions. Strong skills in manual therapy and the development of effective therapeutic routines. Solid proficiency in utilizing EMR platforms, particularly WebPT, for efficient patient documentation. Demonstrated experience in orthopedic outpatient care is strongly preferred. Preferred Experience Experience working in a fast-paced orthopedic outpatient environment. Proven track record of successfully implementing individualized patient care plans. Knowledge of current best practices in orthopedic rehabilitation and a passion for continuous learning and development. Compensation and Benefits The compensation for this physical therapist position ranges from $90,000 to $110,000 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
