Work Environment The Physical Therapist will work onsite at our modern rehabilitation facility, surrounded by a team of dedicated healthcare professionals. The work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a consistent schedule that supports work-life balance. Key Responsibilities As a Physical Therapist at Resurge Rehab & Therapy, your day-to-day duties will include: Conducting comprehensive initial and ongoing assessments to determine resident mobility, pain levels, strength, and functionality. Designing and implementing personalized treatment plans that align with each resident's rehabilitation goals and physician recommendations, ensuring tailored care. Providing evidence-based therapy sessions to improve mobility, alleviate pain, and minimize the risk of future injuries. Educating residents and their families on therapeutic techniques, exercises, and self-management strategies to promote recovery at home. Collaborating with the nursing team, occupational therapists, and wellness staff to develop and execute interdisciplinary care plans, enhancing overall treatment effectiveness. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in compliance with Medicare and state regulations. Contributing actively to a positive, respectful, and compassionate environment dedicated to the dignity and well-being of our senior residents. Patient Population / Client Focus Our primary focus is on supporting older adults and individuals recovering from surgery or illness. You will work closely with residents who may have varying needs, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological conditions, and general weakness due to age or illness. Understanding their unique challenges and goals is crucial in providing effective care. Qualifications To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications: A current and valid Physical Therapist license in Virginia or eligibility for licensure. A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution, with a DPT or equivalent preferred. CPR and BLS certification, or a willingness to obtain certification upon hire. Strong interpersonal skills that facilitate effective communication with residents and their families. Ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment. Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented care approach. Preferred Experience While not mandatory, the following experiences are preferred and would greatly enhance your application: Previous experience specifically in geriatrics or long-term care settings. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and rehabilitation documentation best practices. Experience in developing community engagement initiatives or therapeutic programs.
