Position Description:
Our Physical Therapy Aides are one of our most important positions, as they have a significant amount of interaction with our patients. We provide an environment focused on education and providing the aide with experience and preparation especially for further schooling. The Aide position is responsible for cultivating a trusting relationship. This position is responsible for connecting with our patients through compassionate, frequent communication and corrective cueing with activities. The Aide position coordinates patient flow in the gym area of our facility and helps to motivate and afford the patient the best opportunity to achieve their goals. They are expected to go out of their way to make sure the patient has the best experience in rehabilitation. They must also have the desire to continue to learn as they will be taught not only the procedures at our facility but also physical therapy and biomechanical concepts in order to assist the Physical Therapist with the most detailed and best care possible.
Job Description:
Role and Responsibilities:
  • Reports to Physical Therapy Site Director
  • Is ready to work at their scheduled time taking into account preparation for the day.
  • Addresses patients by name upon arrival and throughout course of care.
  • Assists Therapists in getting patients set up with initial activities (i.e. Bicycle, Moist Heat, etc…)
  • Communicates affectively, relaying messages from patient to Customer Service Representatives, Insurance Specialists or Therapists when necessary.
  • Communicate and assist patients in filling out all insurance requirements and necessary paperwork to provide the best care and prevention of a lapse in care, if necessary.
  • Assists Therapists with taking patient through their activities under the PT's direction and plan.
  • Providing corrective cueing and feedback to patient with regards to proper form, technique or modification the Therapist advises.
  • Performs opening and closing duties of the scheduled shift (i.e. shutting down equipment, closing blinds, making sure facility is prepared for the following day of treatment).
  • Available for frequent training sessions with physical therapists. Preferred Skills

Pay:
$17.00 per hour
