Job Description
Free Motion Physical Therapy | Clearwater, FL Want a job where you actually learn something? If you're interested in physical therapy, sports medicine, exercise science, rehabilitation, health & wellness, or human performance , this is not your typical Physical Therapy Aide position. At Free Motion Physical Therapy , we believe that movement is medicine—and that the more you understand the human body, the better you can help people change it. We're looking for a motivated, energetic, people-oriented Physical Therapy Aide who wants to learn, work directly with therapists & patients, become part of a close-knit team, and gain real-world experience inside a unique physical therapy and wellness environment. You don't need to know everything when you walk through the door. You do need to be willing to learn. Why Free Motion? Free Motion is a privately owned, cash-based physical therapy practice in Clearwater built around hands-on physical therapy, patient education, therapeutic exercise, advanced recovery technology, and wellness. Our approach is different from a traditional PT clinic. We focus on understanding the person in front of us, identifying the underlying dysfunction, educating the patient about their body, and helping them move and function better. Our facility also incorporates advanced technologies and recovery tools such as Neubie, Novothor red-light therapy, laser therapy, electrical stimulation, Normatec compression, cold plunge, oxygen therapy, infrared sauna, and other wellness technologies. Most importantly, we believe education creates better results. We want our team to understand WHY we're doing something—not simply follow instructions. You'll be taught our systems, our equipment, our approach to exercise and recovery, and how we work with patients. Then you'll have the opportunity to put that knowledge into practice every day. And yes... we have fun doing it. We work hard when the clinic gets busy, but we believe work should also be enjoyable. We're building a team where people communicate, help each other, learn together, and genuinely care about the people walking through our doors. What You'll Do As a Physical Therapy Aide / Technician, you'll become an important part of the patient's experience. You'll work closely with our Physical Therapists and team to help patients safely complete their modality treatments and exercise programs while creating a positive, encouraging environment. Guide Patients Through Exercises Help patients perform those prescribed therapeutic exercises, stretches, mobility work, strengthening exercises, and other movement-based activities. You'll learn how to recognize proper form, provide appropriate instruction, and communicate with patients throughout their session. Learn & Assist With Advanced Technology You'll receive on the job training on the equipment and technologies used throughout our facility. Depending on your training and responsibilities, this may include modalities and recovery technologies such as: Neubie / neuromuscular re-education Therapeutic ultrasound Electrical stimulation Laser therapy Novothor red-light therapy Normatec compression Cold plunge Infrared sauna Oxygen-based recovery REACT Table Exercise equipment, resistance bands, weights and mobility tools You won't simply be told how to push buttons. We'll teach you what the equipment is designed to do, why it is being used, and how it fits into the patient's overall program. Become a Student of the Human Body This is one of the biggest parts of the position. You'll be exposed to real patients with real injuries, movement limitations, pain, rehabilitation needs, and performance goals. You'll have opportunities to learn about: Anatomy & physiology Human movement Exercise prescription Mobility & flexibility Strength development Neuromuscular re-education Injury recovery Patient communication Physical therapy principles Recovery & wellness How different therapies are integrated into a patient's program If you're someone who constantly asks "Why?"—you'll probably fit in well here. Work Directly With Patients Help patients feel comfortable, welcomed, and confident throughout their visit. You may be one of the first team members a patient interacts with and one of the people they spend the most time with during their appointment. We expect our team to treat every patient like a person—not a number. Help Maintain Accurate Patient Information Document and communicate relevant observations to the appropriate team members, including patient responses to exercises, treatment, and other observations during the session. You'll learn the importance of accurate communication and documentation within a clinical environment. Keep the Clinic Ready A great patient experience starts with a great environment. You'll help: Prepare treatment areas Clean and organize equipment Sanitize treatment areas Restock supplies Maintain an organized exercise area Prepare equipment for upcoming patients Keep the clinic looking professional and welcoming Become More Valuable Over Time We don't want you to stay at the same level forever. As you learn our systems and demonstrate competency, we want you to take on more responsibility. Learn → Practice → Understand → Apply → Improve That's the Free Motion mindset. Who We're Looking For We're not necessarily looking for someone with the most impressive resume. We're looking for the right person. You may be a great fit if you are: Interested in physical therapy, sports medicine, exercise science, rehabilitation, fitness, or health & wellness Naturally curious about how the human body works Energetic and comfortable being active throughout the day Friendly and comfortable talking with patients A fast learner who enjoys being taught new things Comfortable receiving feedback and applying it Dependable and punctual Organized and detail-oriented Comfortable working as part of a team Someone who takes pride in doing things correctly Someone who enjoys helping people Someone who wants to grow professionally The most important quality? A willingness to learn. We can teach you our equipment. We can teach you our systems. We can teach you our approach. But you have to bring the curiosity, work ethic, attitude, and desire to help people.
