Duties Assist physical therapists with patient intake, setup, and preparation for therapy sessions to ensure smooth operations. Support patient transfer methods using proper manual handling techniques to promote safety and comfort. Help facilitate rehabilitation exercises by demonstrating movements and ensuring correct form under supervision. Maintain patient confidentiality at all times while documenting treatment activities and progress accurately. Prepare treatment areas by cleaning equipment, organizing supplies, and ensuring a hygienic environment. Support hospital or clinic staff with basic administrative tasks such as scheduling and record keeping related to patient care. Assist with patient mobility and transfer techniques, including gait training and positioning, to promote optimal recovery outcomes. Skills Strong commitment to patient service with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with diverse populations. Practical experience practicing in a physical therapy or rehabilitation role, including outpatient, inpatient, or post-acute settings. Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physiotherapy principles to support clinical activities confidently. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while assisting patients with transfers or mobility exercises. Familiarity with hospital environments and acute care procedures to adapt quickly to fast-paced healthcare settings. CPR certification and understanding of basic life support protocols to ensure patient safety at all times. Experience working with geriatric populations or in orthopedics, geriatrics, or sub-acute care environments is highly valued.
