Full-time and Part-time positions available Part-time hours: 12:30 - 5 pmJOB SUMMARY
As directed by a physician and under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist/ Occupational Therapist, conducts patient assessments, testing, and therapy, using standard physical therapy modalities.Requirements:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
: A.Education:
Associate/ Bachelor's Degree. Graduate of an accredited Physical/Occupational Therapy Assistant program. B.Personal Job-Related Skills:
Knowledge of physical therapy/occupational therapy equipment and have effective oral and written communication skills. C.Licensure, Registry or Certification:
Texas Physical Therapy/ Occupational Therapy Assistant License D.Experience:
1.Prior Work Experience:
One year experience as a Licensed Physical Therapy/ Occupational Therapy Assistant preferred. 2.Technical Training:
CPR required. Basic computer skills preferred. E.Physical and Mental Requirements:
Duties of the position require extended periods of standing and walking. Repeated bending, stooping and reaching with arms and feeling with hands and fingers is required during the treatment of patients. Employee may be required to move, lift, support or move patients who suddenly become incapable of supporting themselves, assisted by other team members or with designated equipment for this purpose. Pushing and pulling up to 300 pounds and carrying up to 50 pounds may be required during the patient treatment process, or when transferring or supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless. The employee must be physically able to operate equipment used in the job. Vision requirements include close, distance, color vision and the ability to adjust focus; must be able to hear conversation in order to interact with physicians, patients, staff, family members and other team members. The work environment will be subject to moderate to loud noise from equipment. Stressful situations involving patients may occur during treatment. Employees are exposed to patient elements.
