Job Description

Are you energetic, encouraging, and passionate about helping people improve the way they move? Arctic Chiropractic West Mat-Su is looking for a Therapeutic Exercise Chiropractic Assistant / Exercise Specialist to join our growing multidisciplinary healthcare team. This is an active, hands-on, patient-facing position for someone who enjoys movement, exercise, coaching, healthcare, and building relationships with people. You will work directly with patients as they progress through provider-prescribed therapeutic exercise programs designed to improve movement, mobility, stability, breathing, and overall function. Our therapeutic exercise programs—including our breathing program—are based on FMS (Functional Movement Systems) principles and programming. What You'll Do As our Therapeutic Exercise Chiropractic Assistant, you will work closely with our chiropractors and physical therapist to carry out prescribed therapeutic and corrective exercise programs.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coaching patients through prescribed therapeutic and corrective exercise programs Coaching proper movement patterns, positioning, breathing, and exercise technique Providing encouragement, accountability, and a positive patient experience Following provider-directed treatment plans and exercise progressions Tracking patient progress throughout their therapeutic exercise program Completing required documentation of treatments performed at every patient visit in our ChiroTouch EHR system Communicating patient progress, difficulties, or concerns to the treating provider Reinforcing prescribed home exercise programs and instructions Helping patients understand how their exercises relate to daily activities and functional goals Preparing, cleaning, and maintaining the therapeutic exercise area and equipment Assisting with patient flow throughout the treatment area Assisting with scribing for our chiropractors Helping with clinic laundry Assisting with general office and treatment-area cleaning Supporting other Chiropractic Assistant and clinic responsibilities as needed This position does not independently diagnose, prescribe, or modify patient treatment plans. Our Exercise Specialist coaches patients through programs prescribed and directed by our licensed providers. Who We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you are: Energetic, outgoing, positive, and comfortable working with people throughout the day Interested in exercise, functional movement, rehabilitation, fitness, or healthcare Naturally encouraging and able to coach and motivate others Comfortable being physically active throughout your shift Able to provide clear coaching and respectfully correct movement and exercise technique Detail-oriented and able to follow established treatment protocols Comfortable learning and completing accurate clinical documentation Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to manage multiple responsibilities Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment A team player who understands that patient care comes first Willing to help with the everyday responsibilities that keep a busy clinic running smoothly Excited to learn and develop new skills Experience or education in exercise science, kinesiology, personal training, physical therapy, chiropractic, athletic training, coaching, rehabilitation, sports, or fitness is a plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person. Chiropractic Assistant Certification & Training Obtaining an Alaska Chiropractic Assistant Certification within one year of your hire date is required for this position. Paid, hands-on training will be provided by the clinic to help you develop the skills needed to succeed in the role and work toward your Chiropractic Assistant certification. You will also receive training in our clinic's therapeutic exercise systems, patient flow, documentation standards, ChiroTouch EHR, and FMS-based exercise programs.

12:00 PM-1:30 PM Dependable attendance and availability during these scheduled hours are important to maintaining continuity of patient care. Compensation $20-$25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Paid hands-on training is provided. What Makes This Position Different This isn't a job where you'll spend your entire day sitting behind a desk. You'll be actively coaching patients , helping them develop better movement patterns and watching their abilities change as they progress through care. Some patients may be recovering from an injury. Others may be working to correct dysfunctional movement patterns, improve stability and mobility, develop better breathing mechanics, or return to activities they haven't been able to comfortably perform. We want our Exercise Specialist to make movement approachable, encouraging, and even enjoyable—while maintaining the treatment standards and programs established by our providers.
