Our ICF, You Will:

Make a lasting difference in the lives of children with complex needs by supporting children with significant physical, neurological, orthopedic, developmental, and medical challenges. Build meaningful relationships by working consistently with the children you serve and learning their personalities, strengths, preferences, and motivations. Focus on functional and meaningful outcomes such as improving comfort, positioning, head and trunk control, sitting, standing tolerance, transfers, mobility, and participation in daily routines. Celebrate meaningful progress—big and small because every accomplishment matters. A child tolerating a stander longer, sitting independently for a few more seconds, taking a step, reaching for a favorite toy, or participating more actively in daily life can be a tremendous achievement. Support movement and mobility throughout the day by helping children work toward weight-bearing, stepping, reciprocal movement, transfers, and increased independence at their individual level. Work with specialized pediatric adaptive equipment , including wheelchairs, standers, gait trainers, KidWalks, seating systems, AFOs, TLSOs, positioning equipment, and other mobility devices. Become experienced in complex seating, positioning, mobility, and adaptive equipment while helping ensure each child has the tools and support they need to participate comfortably and safely. Be creative with treatment by incorporating therapy into meaningful activities and daily routines in the therapy gym, classroom, bedroom, outdoors, and other environments throughout the facility. Promote carryover beyond the therapy session by developing individualized positioning, stretching, standing, walking, and mobility programs that can be incorporated throughout each child's day. Collaborate as part of a dedicated interdisciplinary team alongside Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, nursing staff, caregivers, teachers, physicians, orthotists, and families. Provide hands-on education and support to caregivers and staff on safe transfers, positioning, stretching, orthotic application, wheelchair positioning, stander use, and individualized mobility programs. Help create consistency in care by ensuring therapeutic strategies are integrated into the child's daily routines and supported by the entire care team. Learn from experienced pediatric professionals while expanding your knowledge of neurological pediatrics, developmental disabilities, complex medical needs, adaptive equipment, seating, mobility, and orthotics. Qualifications Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices. Experience in skilled nursing facilities or pediatric setting is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
