Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their insurance information, and assist with appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks. Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, answering inquiries promptly and directing calls appropriately. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes including Medicare and other third-party payers. Collect patient information accurately, review documentation for completeness, and update medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding to ensure proper reimbursement. Maintain organized filing systems for medical records and ensure all documentation review is thorough and compliant with health information management standards. Support clinic operations by managing appointment schedules, coordinating care plans, and performing clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and maintaining office supplies. Requirements Proven experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with strong front desk or administrative support skills. Familiarity with EMR/EHR system like Chiro HD. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and medical billing procedures. Ability to handle sensitive patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations with discretion and professionalism. Excellent communication skills including phone etiquette and bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10-key typing). Experience working with dental terminology or dental clinic experience is a plus but not required. Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks.
