Job Summary The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy services to patients in their place of residence on an intermittent basis. Services are delivered in accordance with physician orders and an established plan of care, under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). Service Areas Aurora Qualifications Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) or a comparable successor entity, orcompletion of a two-year PTA program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Current PTA license in the state(s) of practice, or eligibility for licensure. Minimum of two (2) years of experience preferred. Ability to exercise independent judgment and clinical initiative within scope of practice. Acceptance of and commitment to the philosophy, goals, and standards of Prestige Therapies. Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain). Line of Authority Reports to the Clinical Manager, Nursing Supervisor, Therapy Supervisor, and/or Supervising Physical Therapist. Key Responsibilities Perform physical therapy services as planned, delegated, and supervised by the Physical Therapist. Provide physician-prescribed therapy under a written plan of care. Assist with the preparation and completion of clinical documentation, progress notes, and care plan updates in a timely manner. Educate patients and family members on home exercise programs, activities of daily living, and safety techniques. Communicate effectively with the supervising Physical Therapist regarding patient progress, changes in condition, or treatment modifications. Participate in interdisciplinary care planning with other healthcare professionals. Attend staff meetings, patient care conferences, and in-service education as scheduled or assigned. Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient records in compliance with agency policy and regulatory standards. Promptly report patient incidents, variances, or complaints to the supervising Physical Therapist. Demonstrate competency in all technical and clinical skills according to established procedures. Participate in peer review, quality improvement, and QAPI activities as requested. Maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and attendance in accordance with agency policy. Exhibit strong time management, sound clinical judgment, and effective decision-making skills. Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and agency operations. Working Environment Services are provided in patient homes and may include travel to and from patient residences. Occasional work may occur in the agency office setting.

Job Relationships Supervised by:

Clinical Manager, Nursing Supervisor, Therapy Supervisor, and/or Supervising Physical Therapist. Compensation Compensation is negotiable and based on experience.
