The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) is responsible for providing physical therapy treatments to patients in their homes under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT). The PTA will collaborate with the PT to implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities in patients suffering from injuries or disease. The role requires working closely with patients and their families to achieve therapeutic goals and to help improve the patient's quality of life in the home environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer physical therapy treatments as directed by the Physical Therapist, including exercises, manual therapy techniques, and the use of specialized equipment. Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and techniques to improve mobility and strength. Monitor and document patient progress, including recording patient responses to treatment and reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising PT. Assist with the evaluation of patient conditions by collecting relevant data and reporting findings to the Physical Therapist. Modify treatments according to patient needs and under the guidance of the PT to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Provide patient care that adheres to the individualized plan of care established by the Physical Therapist. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as the policies and procedures of the home care agency. Participate in patient care meetings and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in Kinnser Promote safety and injury prevention techniques in the home setting.

Qualifications and Skills:

Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program. Previous experience working in home health care or outpatient rehabilitation is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals. Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability and adherence to the treatment plan. Proficient in documenting patient care and using Kinnser Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for traveling to patient homes.
