Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our home health team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitative care to patients in their homes. This position is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently while maintaining a high level of communication with the supervising PT and interdisciplinary team.Key Responsibilities:
Carry out treatment plans as developed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Perform therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, neuromuscular re-education, and other skilled interventions as appropriate to the patient's condition. Monitor and document patient progress, response to interventions, and any changes in condition. Provide timely and accurate clinical notes in compliance with home health documentation standards. Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, proper use of equipment, and functional strategies to promote independence. Communicate regularly with the supervising PT to ensure continuity and coordination of care. Travel to patient homes and maintain a flexible schedule to meet visit needs.Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current and active license as a PTA in the state of Florida. CPR/BLS certification. Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, home health experience preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions within the scope of practice. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.Preferred Traits:
Experience with geriatric, orthopedic, and post-surgical patients. Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Kinnser, WellSky, etc.). Comfortable with a caseload that may include both high-functioning and medically complex patients. Strong time management and documentation skills.Job Types:
