Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with a focus on delivering comprehensive patient care across diverse settings. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans, support patient recovery, and promote optimal mobility and function. This role offers an engaging opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients' lives through compassionate and expert care. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Provide hands-on therapy interventions, including trigger point therapy, manual therapy, and therapeutic exercises to improve mobility and reduce pain. Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately in medical records. Support discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on exercises, safety measures, and ongoing care strategies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facility environments to ensure continuity of care. Maintain a thorough understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practices. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized treatment environment aligned with healthcare standards. Participate in ongoing training related to geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and acute care to enhance clinical skills. Experience Candidates should demonstrate prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities or outpatient clinics with exposure to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics. Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and the ability to develop effective care plans are essential. Experience with inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings is preferred, along with familiarity with discharge planning processes. A solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is required to support accurate assessments and interventions. Previous involvement in home health or acute care environments will be considered advantageous. Candidates should possess excellent communication skills for effective patient education and team collaboration. Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is mandatory, along with current licensure or certification as applicable by local regulations.
