Job Description

The Savoy at Fort Lauderdale Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to provide PRN support in our skilled nursing and rehab setting. You will implement treatment plans under the direction of a Physical Therapist, focusing on restoring mobility, strength, balance, and functional independence for short-term rehab and long-term care residents. Responsibilities include assisting with evaluations, leading therapeutic exercises and gait training, documenting progress, and educating residents and families. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary care team in a resident-centered, supportive environment that encourages professional growth and high-quality outcomes. Responsibilities Deliver physical therapy treatments under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist Assist with implementing individualized treatment plans for rehab and long-term care residents Lead therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, and balance activities Monitor resident response to treatment and report changes to the supervising PT and care team Accurately document treatments, progress, and outcomes in the medical record Educate residents and families on exercises, safety, and mobility techniques Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident goals Maintain safe, clean therapy areas and proper use of equipment Required Skills Therapeutic exercise Gait training Transfer training Range of motion techniques Neuromuscular re-education Patient mobility assistance Therapy documentation (EMR) Care plan implementation Vital sign monitoring Patient and family education
