RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the supervising Physical Therapist in carrying out student evaluations by collecting data and observations related to gross motor skills, mobility, balance, and physical functioning. Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising PT to support student access and participation in educational activities. Provide therapeutic interventions to improve strength, endurance, coordination, posture, and safe movement within the school environment. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to help integrate physical therapy strategies into classroom routines and school activities. Document therapy sessions, student performance, and progress, sharing updates with the supervising PT. Support the PT in preparing reports and information needed for IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. Monitor student progress during sessions and communicate observations to the supervising PT for potential plan adjustments. Participate in training and professional development to stay aligned with best practices in school-based physical therapy.
