Wellstar Health System seeks a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant for our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this on-site role, you'll support Physical Therapists in providing evidence-based rehabilitation, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and functional activities. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, monitoring progress, documenting care in the EMR, and educating patients and families. Responsibilities Implement PT treatment plans under supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist Instruct and assist patients with therapeutic exercises and functional mobility Monitor, document, and report patient response and progress in the EMREnsure patient safety, proper body mechanics, and use of assistive devices Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and precautions Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and physicians on coordinated care plans Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and infection control standards Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and case conferences as needed Support discharge planning with functional status updates and recommendations Uphold Wellstar's patient-centered, inclusive care standards Required Skills Therapeutic exercise implementation Gait and balance training Neuromuscular re-education Manual therapy assistance Use of assistive devices and DMEElectronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Patient and family education Vital signs monitoring and basic patient assessment Infection control and safety protocols Interdisciplinary care coordination
