Savoy Therapy

Physical Therapist Assistant PRN

Job Description

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) — Assisted Living & Memory Care Full time, flexible 30-40 hours/week | $32-$35/hour | Peoria, IL Come do the work you actually trained for. I'm Kris, a physical therapist and the owner of Savoy Therapy. I'm in your shoes every day. Helping people through pain and teaching them to move better is why I became a therapist. But the longer I worked in clinics and hospitals, the harder it got to find a place that would let me put patients first, keep learning, and still have a life outside of work. Eventually it wasn't just hard. It was impossible. So in 2011 I went out on my own. Patient care first, always. Keep learning. Keep finding better ways to help older adults. Exceptional therapists joined me along the way, and Savoy Therapy is now a leading provider of therapy to older adults where they live, across Central Illinois. We're growing into Peoria, and I'd like to invite you to see if we're a fit for each other. What you'll do You'll treat residents in assisted living and memory care communities we partner with in the Peoria area, carrying out plans of care under the direction of a physical therapist. You won't be handed a protocol and left alone with it. You'll collaborate on those plans, flag what's working and what isn't, and help shape the outcome. Memory care is a real part of this caseload. If you like the puzzle of adapting your approach to a resident with dementia; meeting them where they are that day, and finding the cue that works. You'll also have a team behind you. I'm proud of the group we've built. They're ready to help, brainstorm, and push each other. That matters more in this setting than anywhere else, because you're the only clinician in the room. Responsibilities Carry out the PT's plan of care and challenge both your patient and yourself to get the most out of every session Perform selected data collection, measure performance, and document accurately in the patient's record Recognize changes in patient status and communicate treatment modifications with the supervising PT and the team Communicate with families, POAs, community staff and partners, and the broader healthcare team including primary care and specialists Apply current evidence for restoring function, reducing symptoms, and preventing falls and deconditioning Complete documentation that supports the delivery of skilled therapy services Maintain ethical and legal standards and keep your clinical knowledge current What we're looking for Licensed PTA in Illinois, with an associate degree from an accredited PTA program A real interest in working with older adults Comfortable treating residents with dementia and adapting your session on the fly Comfortable working independently within a community setting Comfortable talking with families and community staff about therapy, aging, and fall risk Timely, accurate documentation Team player who consults and collaborates rather than going it alone Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Compensation and benefits $32-$35/hour, based on experience Paid drive time between communities, plus mileage reimbursed at $0.45/mile — you're not covering the cost of getting to your patients Flexible full-time schedule, 30-40 hours a week, built around your life Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off 401(k) with company match Continuing education support, so you can keep getting better at this Why Savoy Therapy A culture where patient care genuinely sits at the center, not in the mission statement A small, close team that answers the phone when you call A clinical ladder into mentorship and leadership as you grow Ready to talk? Apply here and I'll personally review your application. If it looks like a fit, we'll have a conversation — not an interview — about what you want out of your career and whether we are good fit for each other. — Kris, PT, Cert.
