Physical Therapy Assistant

Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The PTA will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality patient care across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology, along with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare professionals and caregivers. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' recovery journeys by implementing tailored physiotherapy treatment plans and ensuring accurate clinical documentation. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients across diverse populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and acute care cases. Perform therapeutic interventions such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and other physiotherapy techniques to promote mobility and pain relief. Operate and manage medical equipment safely and effectively during treatment sessions. Document patient assessments, progress notes, treatment outcomes, and discharge planning in accordance with clinical documentation standards and electronic health records (EHR) management protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and follow-up procedures. Communicate clearly with patients and their families regarding treatment goals, progress, and home exercise programs. Ensure compliance with clinical standards, safety regulations, and medical documentation requirements throughout all patient interactions. Maintain a clean and organized treatment environment while adhering to infection control protocols. Experience Prior experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or home health is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical equipment operation relevant to physical therapy practice. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and acute care is highly desirable. Familiarity with clinical assessment documentation standards and electronic health records (EHR) management systems is essential. Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages as well as multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Previous involvement in discharge planning or care coordination within skilled nursing facilities or hospital environments is advantageous. Pay:
$45.00 - $50.00 per hour
