Job Summary:
St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant for our Rehab unit located within the Dearborn Hospital.
Job Description:
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) implements treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist, providing high-quality patient care while monitoring progress and communicating changes in patient condition. The PTA is responsible for timely and accurate documentation of services provided, ensuring all interventions are appropriately billed and compliant with organizational and regulatory requirements. Working collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members, the PTA assists in coordinating patient rehabilitation programs and participates in discharge planning to support successful patient outcomes. Additional responsibilities include supervising technicians and ancillary personnel, contributing to staff orientation, mentoring, and educational in-services, and maintaining adherence to APTA Code of Ethics standards, regulatory guidelines, and healthcare system policies and procedures. The PTA demonstrates professionalism in all interactions, promotes rehabilitation services through daily activities, and performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program Licensed or eligible or license in the state where work is being performed.
Specialized Knowledge:
Knowledge of Physical Therapy techniques Good interpersonal and time management skills Good communication skills Kind and Length of Experience New graduate or experienced therapist
DESIRABLE
Previous experience in setting related to primary role. Previous experience supervising technicians and ancillary personnel Previous experience using EMR (electronic medical record)
