Job Overview Sports Rehabilitation Physical and Hand Therapy Associates is looking for a full time Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. We are a private practice located in Overland Park, KS. We offer one on one therapy, Aquatic physical therapy, a great work environment with a collaborative team of therapists. Contact jmcgannon@kcsportsrehab.com for more information. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs, including geriatrics, orthopedics, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Implement physical therapy treatments such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities to promote healing and mobility. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions while adhering to clinical documentation standards. Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, discharge planning details, and other medical documentation accurately within electronic health records (EHR). Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, address concerns, and encourage active participation in recovery processes. Support discharge planning efforts by providing detailed updates on patient progress and recommendations for ongoing care or home modifications. Qualifications Current certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program; valid state licensure or registration as required. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, geriatrics, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy. Proficiency in clinical assessment documentation and adherence to medical documentation standards within electronic health records (EHR). Skilled in manual therapy techniques including trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities. Ability to operate medical equipment safely and effectively during treatment sessions. Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver and client interactions; compassionate approach to patient care.
Pay:
$23.45 - $28.24 per hour
