Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics. Implement physical therapy treatments such as manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and therapeutic exercises based on established protocols. Conduct clinical assessments and document patient progress accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards and medical terminology. Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during therapy sessions, ensuring proper use and maintenance. Maintain comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) management, ensuring all medical documentation complies with healthcare regulations. Collaborate seamlessly with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and other therapists—to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning. Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers to explain treatment procedures, answer questions, and foster a positive therapeutic environment. Qualifications Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the relevant state or region. Proven experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practice. Skilled in manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physical therapy treatment implementations. Familiarity with clinical assessment documentation standards and medical documentation practices. Ability to operate medical equipment safely and manage electronic health records efficiently. Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver and client interactions across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics. Experience with discharge planning, acute care procedures, outpatient therapies, and skilled nursing facility protocols is highly desirable.
