Job Description

Iberia Medical Center (IMC) in New Iberia, LA is looking for team members who will help advance our vision to be the premier hospital of choice for patients, physicians and employees. IMC is currently looking to add a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Rehab Services team on a PRN basis. Under a supervising Physical Therapist & the Director of Rehab Services, the Physical Therapy Assistant [PTA] will be implementing treatment plans and providing medically necessary physical therapy to restore function , prevent disability, decrease pain, and promote healing following disease, injury or sickness. The PTA will help the patient reach his/her maximum potential and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities. This will be done in a variety of settings including home health, outpatient, and inpatient. The therapist will need knowledge and competency to provide care based on physical, psycho-social, education level, and safety concerns for neonate, infant, toddler, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
Associates degree from approved school of PTA, or equal of Grandfather clause with greater than 2 years experience in multiple settings. Current valid Physical Therapy Assistant License in Louisiana, or a temporary permit granted by
LSBPTE. TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Successful completion of long term clinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient environments from an accredited PTA school, or one year of recent experience in inpatient or outpatient practice.
PRINCIPLE TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Treat patients Monitor and assess patients Reassess patients Assist director of rehab with development of policies and procedures Assist with scheduling of patients Documentation of patient care Assist with daily operations of outpatient and inpatient rehab services Assist PT with delivery of services as requested
