Job Description

A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) with experience in educational environments. This urgent backfill position for the 26-27 school year offers the chance to work within a collaborative school-based setting providing support to students in West Springfield, MA. The assignment runs from ASAP through June 21, 2027, with a commitment of 6 hours per week. Ideal candidates bring strong clinical skills and adaptability, understanding the unique needs of school-aged populations. Your expertise will help students access their curriculum and reach functional goals within the school environment.
Qualifications:
Active Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant licensure (required) Previous PTA experience in school settings preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to document services clearly and promptly
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver physical therapy interventions as directed by supervising therapists Support the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and school staff Maintain accurate, compliant documentation for each student Communicate effectively with student teams and families as needed This contract role presents a steady, part-time schedule throughout the school year, backed by an experienced support network.
