Category Schools - PTA Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful role providing vital physical therapy assistance in a school-based setting just outside of Lynn, MA. This contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) passionate about supporting students' physical development and wellness. The position is full time, offering 35 hours each week, and is designed to cover a 12-week leave starting in late August—with possible extension.
Qualifications:
Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Experience working within schools or with pediatric populations strongly preferred Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and school-based therapy protocols Skilled in delivering therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educators, therapists, and parents Adaptability and professionalism in dynamic educational environments
Responsibilities:
Implement therapeutic activities in accordance with the supervising Physical Therapist's treatment plans Support students in achieving mobility, functional independence, and motor skill development necessary for classroom participation Prepare materials, maintain daily session notes, and monitor progress Consult with teachers and families to share strategies for student success Assist with screenings, evaluations, and progress reporting as needed Travel between classrooms or sites, as required within the school community This full-time assignment lets you build strong relationships over the 12-week period and gain valuable experience in educational therapy.
