Age Specific ResponsibilityMust be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned department. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.

o Assists the physical therapist in treatment planning and conducting evaluation procedures.o Assists the physical therapist in treating patients utilizing modalities, therapeutic exercise, assistive devices, and functional activities.o Provides verbal and/or written feedback to the physical therapist regarding all significant observations or changes in the patient's condition, reaction, and response to treatment.o Assists the physical therapist in determining equipment and supply needs and may participate in the acquisition and inventory of these items.o Functions as primary therapist in treatment of patient following evaluation and direction of physical therapist

• Document's patient's status and progress according to established internal/external time standards and adherence to reimbursement guidelines. (Q)
• Communicates with others to integrate physical therapy treatment with all aspects of patient care.

(Q, S)o Participates in conferences/discussions and exchange of written records with other interdisciplinary team members as directed by the physical therapist to integrate physical therapy treatment plan.o Instructs the patient and the family in physical therapy procedures as part of providing patient and family education including written instructions as necessary.
