Job Description

Position Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is an in-house, facility-employed position providing patient-centered physical therapy treatment in Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care setting under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA carries out individualized plans of care and supports patients in improving strength, mobility, balance, and overall physical function in accordance with regulatory and clinical best practices. Key Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized physical therapy plans of care established by the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Provide skilled physical therapy treatments focused on strength, balance, gait, mobility, and functional training
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and report progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
  • Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary team
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, safety strategies, and use of assistive devices
  • Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, payer, and facility regulations, including HIPAA
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
  • Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and respect in all patient and family interactions.

$35.00 - $43.00 per hour
