Job Description

Mercy is seeking a PRN Physical Therapy Assistant to support compassionate, evidence-based rehabilitation services. In this flexible role, you'll collaborate with physical therapists to deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional mobility interventions for diverse patient populations. Responsibilities include following treatment plans, documenting care, maintaining safe treatment areas, and educating patients and families. Responsibilities Assist physical therapists with implementing individualized treatment plans Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and mobility training Monitor patient progress and document treatments accurately Prepare and maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies Educate patients and families on home exercise programs and safety Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other care team members Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and clinical standards Provide compassionate, patient-centered support during sessions Required Skills Therapeutic exercise implementation Gait and balance training Functional mobility assistance Patient transfer and safe handling techniques Rehabilitation documentation and EMR use Vital sign monitoring during therapy Treatment area and equipment setup Patient and family education on home programs Knowledge of rehab protocols and precautions Infection control and safety compliance
