Job Description

Family First Chiropractic & Wellness Center is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Insurance & Billing Chiropractic Assistant (CA) . This position is a good fit for someone who has previous office, healthcare or health insurance experience and is comfortable working with details, numbers, patient accounts and insurance information. Extensive medical billing experience is not required. Training will be provided on our office procedures, systems and billing processes. We are looking for someone who learns quickly, takes pride in accuracy, has a strong work ethic and follows through on responsibilities.
Responsibilities will include:
Verifying patient insurance benefits and eligibility Understanding and applying basic insurance concepts such as copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and coverage limitations Working with Medicare and commercial insurance plans Entering and reviewing insurance and patient information for accuracy Assisting with insurance claims, payments and patient accounts Reviewing explanations of benefits (EOBs) and insurance correspondence Identifying discrepancies or missing information and following through to resolution Communicating professionally with insurance companies, patients and other members of our team Assisting with other administrative and front-office duties as needed
Who We're Looking For:
Previous experience in an office, healthcare, medical, chiropractic, or insurance-related setting is strongly preferred. You do not need to be an experienced medical biller. However, applicants should already have a basic understanding of how health insurance works , including terms such as copay, deductible, coinsurance and Medicare. The right person for this position will be: Extremely attentive to detail Organized and able to manage multiple tasks Comfortable working with numbers and computer systems Able to recognize when something doesn't look right and investigate it Dependable and consistent Willing to learn and accept feedback Able to follow established procedures Comfortable communicating with patients and insurance representatives Self-motivated with a strong work ethic Someone who follows a task through rather than assuming someone else will handle it We will provide training on our chiropractic office procedures, software, insurance workflows, and billing processes. We are not expecting applicants to already know everything about chiropractic billing . We are looking for someone who comes to the position with a solid foundation in office or healthcare work, understands basic insurance terminology and has the attention to detail & work ethic necessary to learn the rest.
Minimum Qualifications:
Previous office, healthcare, medical, chiropractic or insurance-related experience Basic understanding of health insurance terminology and benefits Comfortable using computers and learning new software Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Reliable attendance and dependable work habits Applicants without previous office, healthcare or insurance-related experience may not be a good fit for this position.
