Overview Join a dynamic private healthcare practice dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in Jackson Heights! We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Spanish-speaking Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support our multidisciplinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, skilled nursing, and home health environments. As a key member of our team, you will implement tailored physical therapy treatments, assist with clinical assessments, and ensure accurate documentation—all while fostering a welcoming environment for our diverse patient population. Your expertise will directly contribute to improving mobility, relieving pain, and enhancing quality of life for our clients. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans for patients across pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, and other specialties Conduct manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities to promote healing and pain relief Operate medical equipment safely and effectively during treatment sessions, adhering to clinical protocols and safety standards Document clinical assessments, treatment progress, and discharge planning accurately within electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with medical documentation standards Communicate clearly with patients and caregivers in Spanish to explain procedures, answer questions, and promote understanding of care plans Collaborate with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and specialists—to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless treatment transitions Support discharge planning efforts by providing detailed progress reports and recommendations for ongoing care or home health services Experience Proven experience as a PTA or similar role in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and related medical terminology necessary for accurate clinical assessment documentation Skilled in implementing physical therapy treatments such as manual therapy techniques including trigger point therapy and physiotherapy interventions Familiarity with medical equipment operation relevant to physical therapy treatments and the management of electronic health records (EHR) systems Strong communication skills in Spanish are essential for engaging effectively with diverse patient populations and caregivers Prior experience working within inpatient or outpatient settings that involve acute care or skilled nursing environments is highly desirable Ability to follow clinical documentation standards meticulously while maintaining attention to detail in medical documentation and care plans Join us in making a meaningful difference by providing compassionate care that empowers patients on their journey toward improved health!
Pay:
$34.68 - $41.76 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
