Job Description

PTA Physical Therapist Assistant Join our Team at the Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury! We are a one-of-a-kind rehabilitation and community re-entry facility in Lake Katrine, NY, specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Ventilator Care and Ventilator Weaning, Neurobehavioral Disorders, and Complex Medical Recovery. Our facility is designed to promote re-acquisition of cognitive, physical and social skills in a naturalistic setting, and we are currently seeking a PTA Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team on a per diem basis.
Responsibilities:
Review requests for music therapy and physician's orders Interview residents to determine type of treatment and schedule therapy Select rehabilitative and therapeutic activities and exercises based on medical and social history of residents Evaluate type of therapy most desirable after consulting with physician Participate in the development and implementation of resident assessments (MDS) and care plans, including quarterly reviews Assist in transporting residents to and from physical therapy room/area Demonstrate procedures involved in the treatment process to residents and staff personnel Perform physical therapy in resident rooms as necessary Reassure residents before and after therapy treatment Prepare residents for treatment by dressing and positioning them Instruct and supervise residents during therapy Assist residents in ambulatory training as necessary Recommend modifications and changes in the resident's therapy treatment as indicated Ensure that all therapist notes are informative and descriptive of the care provided and of the resident's response to the care
Requirements:
Must possess an Associate's Degree from an accredited program conferring the title of Physical Therapist Assistant Must hold a valid state license Why Work with
