WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will provide therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with each resident's established plan of care.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing individualized physical therapy treatments to residents. Assisting residents with improving strength, balance, endurance, mobility, and functional independence. Providing gait and transfer training. Working with residents recovering from hospitalization, surgery, illness, injury, falls, and functional decline. Helping residents achieve their highest practicable level of independence. Building positive relationships with residents and encouraging their participation in therapy. Communicating resident progress and concerns with the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team. Working closely with nursing and other departments to promote carryover of therapy goals. Providing education to residents, families, and caregivers as appropriate. Accurately documenting therapy services and resident response. Following all applicable facility, state, federal, payer, and professional requirements. Maintaining resident dignity, privacy, safety, and confidentiality.

REQUIRED
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current, active Ohio PTA license. Current CPR certification, or ability to obtain according to facility requirements. Ability to meet facility employment and health requirements.
PREFERRED
Previous skilled nursing or long-term care experience. Experience working with geriatric residents. Experience with Medicare/Medicaid rehabilitation services. New graduates are welcome to apply.
