Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Physical Therapist Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance the quality of life for diverse patient populations across various clinical settings. Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in evaluating patient needs and developing personalized treatment plans. Implement therapeutic exercises, manual handling techniques, and mobility activities to support patient recovery. Monitor and report on patient progress, adjusting interventions as directed by the supervising therapist. Support patients with activities of daily living, ensuring safety during therapy sessions through proper manual handling. Maintain accurate medical documentation and update electronic health records (EHR) efficiently and securely. Educate patients on health management strategies, including health education and post-treatment care instructions. Ensure compliance with safety protocols such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR during all patient interactions. Assist with blood sampling, diagnostic radiology procedures, and other clinical tasks as needed within scope of practice. Communicate effectively with clients, healthcare teams, and family members to report patient conditions clearly and compassionately. Requirements Proven experience in critical care or acute care environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, nursing practices, and medical documentation standards. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Prior clinic experience in physical therapy or related healthcare settings preferred. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems such as EMR/EHR platforms. Strong client communication skills with the ability to explain complex health concepts clearly. Experience working with plastic surgery, surgery recovery, or diagnostic radiology is a plus. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while supporting patient mobility and therapy activities.
