Duties Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and executing tailored treatment plans for patients across various age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics. Perform therapeutic procedures such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy, and other physiotherapy techniques to alleviate pain and improve function. Implement physical therapy treatments following established protocols while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout each session. Maintain precise clinical documentation standards by recording assessments, treatment progress, and discharge plans in electronic health records (EHR). Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists—to coordinate care plans and optimize patient outcomes. Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, and home care strategies to support ongoing recovery outside the clinical setting. Operate medical equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety regulations and medical terminology standards. Qualifications Valid certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program; current licensure or registration where applicable. Proven experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments—preferably with geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, or acute care experience. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, and medical terminology to accurately assess patient needs and document clinical assessments. Skilled in manual therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other physiotherapy modalities. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems and medical documentation standards. Excellent communication skills for effective caregiver interaction and client education; ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Ability to operate medical equipment safely while maintaining compliance with all safety protocols.
